The hotel had a nice restaurant, a fancy spa, and a cute fountain. They even had a roundtrip airport shuttle, as if I wanted to leave this paradise!
Oh, but don't worry, I found the "wonderful blend of Moroccan style and contemporary conveniences" quite underwhelming.

The ambience and beautiful authentic moroccan features really distinguish this riad. It is an oasis from the busy fez streets. It is very centrally located and the staff provided us with a map and advice on what to see and do in Fez. We were navigating our way to Fez which requires that we did some nighttime driving. I rang to say that we were running late and was relieved that the owner Patrick spoke fluent English which was extremely helpful and offered to guide us into Fez. When we arrived Patrick found us and helped us with the luggage and settle in. We sat down on the beautiful central patio and had a some mint tea. We then had a tour. Our room was beautiful the bed really comfortable. Breakfasts were great particularly the one we had on the rooftop terrace. Dinner was also great

During our stay at Riad Layla, we were impressed by the grand and charming atmosphere of the beautiful old building. The spacious and well-decorated room provided us with exceptional comfort, especially the comfortable beds. The location of the riad was excellent, with attractions and restaurants within easy reach. The rooftop terrace offered stunning views, perfect for capturing Instagram-worthy photos. The high-quality food, particularly the pastilla, left us with a delightful dining experience. We cannot praise the hosts enough, as Mohammed and Latifa were incredibly attentive and went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. The wifi connection was reliable, and we enjoyed a relaxing dinner in our room.

Location within Fes medina was excellent, near enough to edge that it was easy to access modern town and facilities, including road transport, and you did not step directly into the sometimes exhausting sensory overload of the Medina centre. Staff in Riad were extremely helpful and organised guide and taxi as required. Room was excellent, bed and linen very comfortable and luxurious. Overall restoration of the Riad was very good, many interesting features, and super roof terrace. Food excellent, although not enough other patrons at the time of year we visited to provide the dining atmosphere it deserved.
Only reason I cannot say excellent for comfort is that we visited in mid November and it can be quite cold at times in the Riad. Considering excellent food provided it could do with greater choice of wine, several more decent local wines could be offered.

We really liked the Riad Layla from the moment we arrived. We were warmly greeted and made welcome in the stylish central courtyard and served a delicious meal. The Hammam experience was fantastic, as were the relaxed breakfasts in the sun on the roof terrace. The style and design of the Riad were outstanding and the staff were all great.
